Formerly the John Wayne Pioneer Trail, the Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail is one of the longest rail-trail conversions in the United States.  It is a very large trail that is part of some great areas of beauty in Washington, and there are many parts including six canyons and three trestles. There is a trail head in Tekoa, a small town in Washington’s Whitman County.
